Our why
Wai-ora Trust is a charitable organisation, whose aims are ‘helping people grow’, by promoting and supporting projects, programmes and community-based businesses that will develop people, our environment and our community.
Our mahi
Silt Sock joins an Eco-sourced Native Nursery and Environmental Contracting division as social enterprise’s run by The Wai-Ora Trust. Profits from these social enterprises drive our community services which include community gardens, a weekly foodbank, disability, and youth programmes as well as a small fitness centre and support for men transitioning from prison.
Our people
Founded in 1981, Wai-Ora Trust has supported the restoration of people and the environment.
From humble beginnings Wai-Ora is now a self-funding organisation which operates from a 17-acre property in Harewood, Christchurch and also owns a 500-acre coastal farm with regenerative native bush and accommodation in Rakautara, a small settlement, 22kilometers north of Kaikoura.
